10Charlotte Flair Vs. Ember Moon – 8/13/19
Here’s a pairing that most people forgot ever shared the ring. Charlotte Flair has been at the forefront of the Women’s Revolution, while her fellow former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon has been hampered by injuries. Recently, Moon returned to NXT.
Combine that with her injury and you might not recall that she had a decent push in the summer of 2019. After beating Flair quickly due to a distraction from Bayley, Moon failed to defeat Bayley for the title at SummerSlam. Two nights later, she faced Flair again and they put on a very good opening match won by Flair.
9Alexa Bliss Vs. Carmella Vs. Naomi Vs. Natalya Vs. Nikki Bella – 9/13/16
The first brand-split pay-per-view following the 2016 Draft was Backlash. On that night, Becky Lynch overcame these five ladies to be crowned the first-ever Smackdown Women’s Champion. Two nights later, those five women would be back at it with a shot at Lynch was on the line.
Although this wasn’t quite as good as what happened at Backlash, they still managed to put on a strong showing. It was much shorter yet they packed a lot of action into it. Alexa Bliss scored the win to start a lengthy feud with Becky Lynch.
8Asuka, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Lana & Naomi Vs. Carmella, The IIconics, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville – 6/12/18
Sometimes, it’s a good thing to throw a bunch of talents into the ring and let them do their thing. That’s just what happened on this episode of Smackdown, as ten ladies shared the stage to prove just how deep the women’s division on the brand was at the time.
The idea here was to promote many of the women in the upcoming Money in the Bank match as well as the Women’s Title feud between champion Carmella and challenger Asuka. The match itself was quite chaotic but remained fun throughout due to the great personalities involved. Asuka made Carmella tap to win.
7Carmella, Dana Brooke, Nikki Cross & Sasha Banks Vs. Dakota Kai, Mia Yim, Rhea Ripley & Tegan Nox – 11/15/19
One of the best things about adding NXT to Survivor Series in 2019 was getting to have NXT talents appear on Raw and Smackdown. Everyone remembers things like Rhea Ripley pinning Charlotte Flair and Adam Cole’s classic against Daniel Bryan. That allowed this to fly under the radar.
Working as a preview for the elimination bout at Survivor Series, a group of NXT women battled a team from Smackdown. While it wasn’t as good as what fans would get at the PPV, this was a lot of fun. Nikki Cross scored the win to secure her spot on the team to the dismay of Sasha Banks.
6Becky Lynch Vs. Charlotte Flair – 1/7/16
Whenever people think about the rivalry between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, they typically go to the end of 2018. That’s when they feuded over the Smackdown Women’s Title, had a classic Last Woman Standing match, and Becky Lynch became “The Man.”
Their issues back during the Divas Championship era were less pronounced and famous but still good. Ahead of their meeting at Royal Rumble, the two had an underrated clash on this edition of Smackdown. Lynch believed she won the title but interference from Ric Flair prevented that and Flair rolled her up to retain.
5Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross Vs. Bayley & Sasha Banks – 6/5/20
The Women’s Tag Team Titles have been a bit of a mixed bag since debuting. At times it has delivered good matches and at others, it feels like an afterthought that isn’t taken seriously. This was one of those cases where things were going well for it.
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross were a fun, popular duo and their opponents helped make the division into what it is. Bayley and Sasha Banks won this main event match that was one of the best in the history of the championships. It was a great match to kickstart a memorable reign.
4Bayley & Sasha Banks Vs. Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler – 9/4/20
Speaking of Bayley and Sasha Banks as Women’s Tag Team Champions, it’s only fitting that their next time chasing the titles follows their win on this list. At Payback, they lost the straps to the uneasy but dominant duo of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. A few nights later, they got their rematch.
ok a vicious beating but kept coming back for more. This was one of those nights where she reminded people that she’s among the best to ever do it. The match might be forgotten down the line as more folks will remember Bayley turning on Banks after the bell.
3Asuka Vs. Charlotte Flair – 3/26/19
The road to the main event of WrestleMania 35 was a convoluted one. Among the many changes made to it, one of them saw Charlotte Flair dethrone Asuka for the Smackdown Women’s Title. This allowed both the Smackdown and Raw Women’s Titles to be defended in the main event at the biggest show of the year.
Charlotte Flair and Asuka have always had great chemistry. This was on par or possibly better than their WrestleMania 34 classic. The two women delivered another outstanding match, with Flair coming out on top.
2Becky Lynch Vs. Carmella Vs. Charlotte Flair – 1/8/19
Most fans can remember the bout these three had at SummerSlam 2018. It marked the end of Carmella’s Smackdown Women’s Title reign, was arguably the best match and performance of her career, and it started Becky Lynch’s road to becoming “The Man.”
In early 2019, they met in a rematch. This time around, a title shot was on the line and not the championship itself. It was another tremendous outing that was as good as the previous one. Becky Lynch scored the win to get her a shot at Asuka’s title at Royal Rumble.
1Bayley Vs. Sasha Banks – 11/6/20
After years of teases and tag teams, Bayley and Sasha Banks finally got their big rivalry in 2020. Sasha Banks ended Bayley’s 380-day run as Smackdown Women’s Champion in an absolute classic at Hell in a Cell.
Bayley was quick to diss Banks for her inability to successfully defend a singles title on the main roster. 13 days after winning it, Banks put the gold on the line against her former best friend. They had one of their usual great matches, with Banks winning and proving that she could find success as a champion.
