Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik were the victims of a vicious attack by Retribution on Monday night and Rey is worse for wear in the wake of the assault as he suffered a nasty head wound.

The father and son duo teamed up for a match against Seth Rollins and Murphy on Raw in what was the older Mysterio’s first fight since he lost the Eye For An Eye Match to Rollins at Extreme Rules.

Dominik, on the other hand, had his debut match at SummerSlam, also losing to the Monday Night Messiah. Monday’s bout ended in a no contest because of interference from WWE’s new havoc-wreaking crew.

Mysterio had his head busted open but no blood was exposed because of his mask. He’s since shown the injury to fans in photos via Twitter, with the first image captioned “#Retribution” along with three blood-drop emojis.

The injury isn’t that bad and should heal up pretty quickly, likely before Mysterio is needed to wrestle again.

An Entertaining Story

The family feud going on with Rollins, though, has been pretty entertaining and Dominik could be one of the most popular faces in WWE by the time it’s over. The youngster has lots of pressure on his shoulders, being the son of one of the greatest performers in wrestling history but he more than held his own against Rollins on Sunday.

Dominik looked very impressive in defeat and definitely appears to have a very bright future with WWE.

As for Rey, he should be all healed up in no time.
