Amassing resume bullet points like that so fast will get you to exactly where Ripley is right now, as the Belle Of The Ball and on a one-way ticket to WrestleMania to face Charlotte Flair for the NXT Title. Here are some things you should know about Ripley.

10Mae Young Classic Veteran
If Ripley looks a little familiar to you, that’s because she has been on WWE TV before. Prior to officially becoming part of the company, Ripley took part in both Mae Young Classics. In the inaugural tournament, Ripley would make it to the second round before losing to fellow Aussie, Dakota Kai. She went a little deeper in the second tournament but still lost in the semis, this time to Io Shirai. Her performance both years helped her get signed to the NXT UK brand.
In the ring, as her theme says, Rhea Ripley is absolutely brutal. Her in-ring style is designed to hurt and punish her opponents. You wouldn’t think that the Miz is one of her influences, but you’d be wrong.
“The Nightmare” has cited the A-Lister as one her biggest influences coming up in the business. According to an interview she did with SportsBible, Ripley spoke to Miz’s snarkiness and ability to do whatever he wants as a trait she has adopted in the ring.
8She’s Only 23
While most wrestling fans know that you can’t always be on top or in the main event, look for Rhea Ripley to be on top for quite some time throughout the next decade or so. She’s enjoying what should be only her first career high at the moment. “The Nightmare” is only 23 years old and has been working for nearly a decade. If she can keep up this pace and this level of performance, her legacy will be firmly established before she’s even thirty.
7Only NXT UK And NXT Women’s Champion
When the NXT UK Women’s Championship was established, like so many other females from across the pond, Rhea Ripley leaped at the chance to claim that piece of gold. On her way to becoming the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion, Ripley defeated two women who advanced further than her in both Mae Young Classics – Dakota Kai in the semis and Toni Storm in the finals. Toni Storm would eventually beat Ripley to win the title. Several months ago, Ripley would again make history when she defeated Shayna Baszler, becoming the first and only woman to win gold WWE gold on both sides of the pond.
6Why She Changed Her Look
Rhea Ripley once looked like every preppy girl ever. She now looks like she should be hanging out with a couple of motorcycle clubs. Her unique look is her own design, but it was also out of necessity. If you take a look at the picture above, Rhea Ripley used to come across like a generic blond bombshell (not that that’s a bad thing). One of the reasons for the transformation into “The Nightmare” was to differentiate herself from fellow Aussie bombshell, Toni Storm.
5She’s Survived Her Own Abuse
Recently the NXT Women’s Champion sat down with former announcer and podcast host of Chasing Glory, Lillian Garcia. There were certainly a few tidbits to learn about Ripley, one of which makes her a bit of a role model for young girls.
Due to bullying in a school, the rough and rugged Ripley sadly harmed herself in response. Thankfully, wrestling saved the future superstar. She’s proof positive that you can overcome bullying and that creative outlets are far better than self-harm.
For those of you wondering, nope you don’t have a shot. Not only would you probably receive a devastating clothesline from Ripley’s massive arms, but she’s also spoken for! As of late last year, Ripley let the world know that she is in a relationship with fellow wrestler, Demetri Action Jackson. According to her posts, he’s able to keep her sane. Jackson’s currently on the indy circuit, but perhaps one day the WWE will be just like Ripley – Action Approved.
3Already Beat Charlotte
WrestleMania 36 will be the first time that the NXT Women’s Championship will be defended on the “Grandest Stage Of Them All.” Rhea Ripley will defend the title against Charlotte Flair – the “Nightmare” against the “Queen.” Thanks to the NXT Invasion during the build to Survivor Series, this won’t be the first time they squared off. In a Triple Threat match on Smackdown, Flair had Sasha Banks in the Figure Eight. But before the Boss could tap, Ripley swept in with a crucifix and was able to catch a three count on the “Queen.”
2First NXT UK Wrestler In The Rumble
While the first Women’s Rumble paid homage to the past and the present, and some of the future, subsequent Rumbles added more of the future stars.
At the 2019 Royal Rumble, the former NXT UK Women’s Champion vented her frustration about losing her title by competing in the Rumble, becoming the first member of the NXT UK Roster to do so and tossing out three superstars the process.
1Only Champion To Ever Challenge The Rumble Winner
Since 1993, the winner of the Royal Rumble has received a shot at the world title at WrestleMania. In the 27 years since that reward has been on the table, no Superstar has been as brazen as the current NXT Women’s Champion. “The Nightmare” Rhea Ripley walked onto Raw with her title in hand and instead of waiting for Charlotte to make her decision, she challenged the “Queen” to a match at WrestleMania.
