It may still be a little raw for some, but the inescapable reality is that we bid a heart-breaking farewell to The Undertaker after he was introduced to Roman Reigns’ yard at WrestleMania 33.
That, unfortunately, means we are going to have to face up to the news – sooner or later – that we have now seen the last of the ‘Deadman’ in WWE.
We’ve seen his last match, his last hair-raising entrance, his last bone-chilling promo, his last botched suicide dive to the outside – and, pertinently, his last return.
Incidentally, his last return was the time he walked out to the ring and stared so hard at Braun Strowman that he made him scarper from the ring like a frightened puppy.
And the one before that was when he pronounced that WrestleMania would “no longer define” him, only to then wrestle two more matches: the Royal Rumble – where the prize at stake is a world title match at WrestleMania – and then, you guessed it, WrestleMania.
Bascially, not all of his returns were that special – but many of them, at least ten anyway, were the stuff of wrestling fans’ dreams (and, if you’re under the age of 12, probably nightmares too).
